put it in big letters down both sides of the car. if not it will just be another...valve rattling, oil burning/carb flooding 302... ...JMO...
I had found a twin-turbo kit for Mavericks; let me see if I can locate it once more... It was SpeedDaddy.com - not good review; http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forums/classic-talk/210636-289-speed-daddy-twin-turbo-kit.html
The new Boss 302 block is essentially a block built up to diesel quality. But the price tag aint cheap.
Those Ebay kits are not made for a maverick at all, it's a universal DIY kit made out of Chinese knock off components. You'd be better off making your own kit from scratch.
A solid mechanic can alter a system and make it adaptable. I don't disagree with you on this specific system; just sharing what I'd discovered.
uh nope, I'll take you right off the bat the headers will not fit at all. And that's the least of your worries, they use thin metal that cracks. No ands, ifs or buts about it. Do a Google search for "cracked ebay headers". The turbos are not even the size they claim, not to mention the seals go out after 50 miles on 80% of them. The blow off vales are decent if you put a genuine spring in it. The ones they include are not that reliable. All the pipes need to be bended, cut and welded to fit, that's out of the range of 80% mechanics. None of my local mechanics can even MIG weld let alone TIG. The included V-belt clamps warp when welded(I've had the pleasure of finding this out myself). Silicon couplers don't even think about using Chinese #$@$. Those are just some things to make the kit fit, intercooler fitment is another HUGE hassle, tuning is a joke with what they provide. And do a search for twin turbo on here, there have been a couple that have tried it. Our engine bays have no extra real estate at all. And actually it's pretty dumb to go with twins when a properly sized single turbo can walk all over them in every category. Now they're some ebay kits that are decent, but the ones listed for our cars are not bolt in at all. And by the time you're done making it fit and replacing the components you'll have easily 3-4 times the price of that kit. Now don't take my word for it, I'm no turbo expert at all. http://www.theturboforums.com/ Post a thread on this forum and I'll guarantee you they'll tell you the same exact thing I did. And those guys are turbo experts with 8-10 second genuine street cars.
I simply stated I "discovered" a system, I never said it was a "good" one, nor did I recommend it. No debate on the headers and I suppose it would take your 20% of mechanics to acheive what most can't. You've conveyed some good points and no question given limitations of the engine comparment. But you said, "You'd be better off making your own kit from scratch." I have no desire whatsoever.
