I have a carter 4916s yf carb. In order for me to set the float and such i have to know the year/make/model of the cars that used it. Itd be for an I6 no doubt but the rebuild manual i have goes off the car not the carb model.

    Any ideas?

    4916S lists to a 170cu Maverick - 1970

    M/T = 3/8" dry float - 1/32" fast idle - 7/32" choke pulldown - 5/16" unloader - 1 notch rich choke - 550 warm idle - 3/32" dashpot

A/T = all the same except warm idle is 750

The YF carbs Ford put on the 200 had a slightly larger venturi bore. I have seen the smaller carb listed in the catalogs as for 170-200 use, so your carb, while OEM made for a 170 should be fine on your 200. Go through the normal setup and adjust the mixture screw properly and there should be no problems. You might want to put in a new set of spark plugs after everything is adjusted and do a visual plug reading to make sure the mixture is not too lean. Reading new plugs is the best way to check mixture IMHO.

If using the carter yf watch for loose throttle plate, body bolts ,that screw in from the bottom up into the main body. In the 70s and 80s a lot of carbs got shook loose on the six cylinder engines. this causes vacume leaks!
