I would like to fill in the mirror holes on my passenger side door, would welding them do the trick? Im sure they would have to be ground down flush first, I can do that with a dremel

If the holes are small enough you may be able to fill them with weld. I would work a little at a time to avoid over heating the metal and causing it to warp. Any large holes will require a peice of the same guage metal be welded in.

Yup..I flushed my antenna mount holes that way. I used a punch first to recess the edge, then welded and grinded. It helps to use a copper spoon.

One of my body hammers has a dull punch on one side. A philips head scerw driver will work. Light taps. Countersink the edges of the holes just enough to hold the beads. I dont hold the trigger more than 1 second at a time. I used .030 flux core. I dont like welding sheet metal with a bottle, cant see with that nozzle in the way.

I have heard of welding the head of a nail into the hole. Comes with a convenient handle as well.
