Looking for a new carb but honestly it's the part of the engine I know the least about.

Anyone care to make a suggestion? Putting it on the Stock 302 in my 74 GT.

Planning on checking the auto parts stores in the area but I'm also ok with ordering one online.

And before anyone asks, I don't even know what's on it right now. I forgot to write it down and my cars across town.

If your motor's stock then I recommend a Holley 350 cfm 2 bbl. Summit lists these new and rebuilt.

Nope, that's a reman Autolite/Motorcraft 2bbl, possibly the same thing you have now (these were made in a dozen different sizes) I was recommending the Holley list#7448 2 bbl. Lots of people like the Autolites, but I'm just not one of them. Never had much luck with the Autolites.

I agree 100%. If you move up to headers and add a little more gear, the 500 cfm would be the next choice before a complete intake/ carb upgrade.

This is probably a dumb question; but am I gonna have to get a new air cleaner if I move up in size on the carb?

I vote for the Holly... I put a 500cfm 2bbl on my 66 mustang 302 mild little cam and tri-y headers and it runs great....

Motorcraft 2150 with a 1.21V = 351 CFM and it doesn’t leak or blow out power valves.

Ok, so I got my holley #7448 and started to put it on the car today. Got a bit of confusion and quickly out of my depth. Seems like the fuel filter is in a different angle than my old, not a big deal. But the throttle set up is totally different. Not really sure what to do about that.

Going to take some pics tomorrow.

    Any advice thanks in advance.

Did you get the kick down retro bracket for a ford automatic kick down?
Its probably a Universal carb. The bracket only cost 25 bucks. At Oriellys

I have a manual transmission. I just found a pdf of the installation instructions that I did not receive with my carb. So now it makes a bit more sense. But the pictures on the instructions seem like they have more springs. Gonna have to get out my spring kit I think.
