OK so I found out the swap meet front sump oil pan I bought came the wrong pick up in it. It's a typical old 302 Mustang style pan going on a 5.0 so the old (and new) one won't work.
Any recommendations for getting a replacement (factory or aftermarket)?
I haven't priced them out yet, as I was in the middle of installing the new oil pump when I found out I had the wrong one and would like to get it buttoned up soon. I assume they should be available pretty easily but I thought if someone had a "best value" recommended replacement this would be the place to hear about it.

OK, if no one has a recommendation, would anyone happen to know a part #?

    Thanks,
Do you need to give them a model or is it just a 302 front sump pick up?

I bought a Mellings pump and pickup from the auto parts store 15 years ago. I would suppose that they are still readily available.

The Mellings pickup has a full screen, too. The factory has a bypass feature that if the screen gets clogged, it can still draw oil. Nice thought, but it can draw crud into the pump too, like broken down pieces of valve guide ... TWICE ..... Jammed the pump and broke the drive for it both times.

If you get one with a full screen, that can't happen.
