    Yo, Mav76,
What you may need is "A"-frame bushings. They're inexpensive and relatively easy to replace. Firsy spend $12-15 for a proper manual, readily available at most any auto supply store or book store. You'll then have a good referance for all future mechanical projects. These upper control arms have eccentrics which, when turned change the alignment settings i.ei caster and camber. If the bushings are too worn, the settings will not remain constant.

The eccentric is in the lower control arm on these cars, not the upper.
This is used to change camber. The caster is changed by adjusting the strut rod length.

    mav76,

if you put the upper a frame bushings in, it would be a good time to put in the 90 degree zert fittings. also be very very careful removing the springs. i have had good luck with the "inside" spring compressor...frank...

p.s. check the upper ball joint while you have it out. the lower control arm has the ball joint as an assy. the spring perches are there too so they can be replaced at the same time. g/l and "safty first".

You need to buy an entire kit from Canadian Mustangs. Do a search...several post about this subject.

1972 will work. Get the complete kit with the pre-assembled upper and lower A-arms.....makes it real easy.
