Hi, I bought a new multidisk clutch PN RAM-8355 and the clutch does not fit the transmission. I have a ford maverick 1974 with T4 transmission. Unfortunately the transmission shaft hub (close to the transmission bearing) does not fit the clutch. The clutch diaphragm seems to be smaller than shaft hub. Please take a look in the attached photos. I'm also attaching the original maverick's clutch photos. If anybody have questions, please let me know. Hi Merc, thanks for your help. My throw-out-bearing is original (as far as I know) and my clutch part number is RAM-8355 ( http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RAM-8355/Application/?query=Engine+Size|5.0L/302|Model|MAVERICK ) Do you see any possibility to change the throw-out-bearing in order to fits the clutch. What can I do? Thanks, R.Coimbra
Not gonna lie, I have no experience with those types of clutches, lol. I did not catch the part about it being a circle track clutch, sorry. I have a strong feeling that the RAM 8355 is not to be used with traditional clutch fork and throwout bearings. They list hydraulic bearings here: http://www.ramclutches.com/Products/hydraulic_bearing.htm But I could be totally wrong here. Maybe someone with circle track clutch experience can help you out.
I just saw that RAM says this is a circle track throw-out bearing: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RAM-497/ Maybe it will work for you? Just guessing here, maybe it will help. I also found this at RAM's website, it talks about the oval track clutches: http://www.ramclutches.com/Tech/7.25.htm
Do you believe a modified fork needs to be provided too? About your link, probably the hydraulic bearing for T-5 fits my transmission. I will check with the manufacturer. If someone else have experience with this issue, let me know.
Hi Merc, Take a look http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RAM-78130/Application/?prefilter=1 This kit has the bearing and also the "hub kit" to be replaced. Of course with the correct diameter of the clutch.
