Had paint mixed at Sherwin Williams. Very disappointed with the mix. Gave them the code Z 1970 Grabber Green and it looks nothing like the grabber green that is on the mirrors that I have. The paint can says code z, Grabber Green Metallic 1971. I did not think it was supposed to be metallic. Are there different Grabber Greens? Metallic and non metallic, or did I just get a bad mix? The mix I got is real lime green looking like there is to much yellow in the mix.

Have you sprayed it? Sometimes they look a lot different dry.

1970 code Z Grabber Green is not metalic. I had the same problem when I got mine painted. If it looks like a lime or mint green it is the wrong year. Good luck!

70 Grabber Green is non mettalic and much brighter. 71 Grabber Green is a darker Green metalic

I guess I will have to go to PPG or dupont to get what I want. Thanks for the info.

Have you considered that the jobber may have made a mistake when mixing the paint? I would take the paint back to them and have them look up the color in one of their old chip books as most will save this obsolete material. You can also take any additional information that you may have with you to support what the color should look like and use all of these as a comparison to what was actually mixed. Most paint suppliers will re-mix the color for you if it appears that they did not supply the correct product for your application. However, if you supplied the wrong information initially, you will have no recourse.

    Good luck - Mike
