    Some things I have found,

Over $100.00 in quarters in baggies hidden around the inside of a truck ($20.00 per bag) and they were not rolled.

A sour cream container full of rattle snake tails.

A complete westward 1/2 inch drive socket set and a bunch of other tools in a truck I bought used at a dealer.

But I have found some of my best stuff at Pick In Pull like a $50.00 when I pulled a passenger seat out of a Ranger, found a Snap on Ratchet screwdriver and a bunch of other tools like hammers, pry bars, wrenches, sockets, plyers, vice grips and a small bag of green stinky stuff with rolling papers which I just left.

Had to dig this thread up again.

I was pulling stuff out of the nicest 74 4 door Comet today .... 64,000 miles, garage kept, and sold for scrap and sitting at the U-Pull-It , nonetheless. Sad.

Anyway, while I was rummaging around in this car, the butt end of a plastic bottle was sticking out from under the drivers seat.

At first, I thought it was a drink bottle.

Then, I turned it around, looked at the odd shape, and read the lettering on the cap .... U ...R ... I ... (insert small shriek here ala Homer Simpson) ... NAL ....

I instinctually flung it into the back seat instantly. Ewwwwww ....

Got some nice stuff out of the car.

At a U-Pullit yard, I found an letter dated 1898.

It was addresse to a person in East Des Moines, Iowa.

My guess is that it was somones relative. I tried to goggle the name on the envelope, to find someone doing the genealogy, but came up empty.

If you enjoy detective work, don't give up. Check the genealogy web sites for that name. I had an old family bible with names, birth and death dates. Found a member of that family and got it too them.

Key is to find someone in the family that has an interest in their family history. Otherwise, it'll just get lost anyway. If you find someone researching that family they'll treasure it.

About 5 dozen plastic roses and other assorted flowers in the trunk, a check stub from a former owner for 40 hours at $3.25 per hour, the original spare rim and tire, apparently never used (maybe that's not so unusual??) and a strange contraption made of a stainless steel plate and bolted into the inside of the car above the right rear shock that is apparently designed to stablize the shock mount in some way... Still looking into that one but it doesn't seem to be a good sign.
