I have an '86 5.0 roller engine and a C4 tranny, I know that I have to have a 50 oz. imbalanced flywheel with a 157 teeth and have ordered one. However, when I received it and installed it was not the correct flywheel. Can anyone tell me where to order the correct flywheel from or perhaps who to talk to?

    Thanks for all the help.

You are correct. Jegs has a TCI 157 tooth 50oz flexplate for $60. That's the one I have, but my engine builder got that one for me locally. I have not seen that particular one in any catalog but Jegs. I'll run down and find the box and get the part# for you.

    Jegs item# 890-529610. Desc: Ford 5.0L 1982-Up, 157 Tooth, 10.5'' Bolt Circle, External Balance 50oz

Another place to look is B & M website for part # 50239.

Doing Ok. We just got done with the race season and a new race car. Only got to the track the last 3 weeks and the performance is already exciting for next season.
We had to custom design and build some parts to be able to run a Ford engine in this kind of car because there are no parts to buy.
We run a 550 hp 351w powered winged sprint car. One of only a few that we know of in the whole country at this time.
All the rest are Chev power but we are making more power than they are under the rules. This Ford lifts the front end all the way down the straights on 1/3 mile dirt.
The car has already been noticed even before we get to running good in the handling and driving dept.
Take a look at www.silverspringspeedway.com at the photo archives to see what these car are like.
Believe me it is the best racing anywhere in the country using 358 engines on a 4 barrel and alky fuel.
    Thanks for asking.

I had a similar problem. I ordered the B&M flexplate PN 50239 (cost $105.95 from summit) and it would not bolt up to the crank on my 1995 engine. I then ordered the TCI plate http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=search.asp&type=bysummitpart&searchtype=both&part=tci-529610&x=19&y=5 (thanks Elliot) and it works perfectly and it also costs alot less ($59.95)! The only reason I got the B&M one first is b/c the Summit guy i placed the order with said its the one I need:rolleyes: . The only difference I see between these plates is that one is SFI and one is non SFI. Does anyone know what that means??

sfi flexplates are required if going faster than 9.99 if my memory serves me right. that means it is a little more explosion resistant and has a dated tag on it. good for 5 years i think .
