might be buying a 76 Maverick(my first) but love the look of the 70-72 bumpers, is it possible to replace the Front and Rear 76 version with a 70-72 version, also new to working on cars, learning as I go, any info appreciated

    :Welcome: from MD!

It sure is, just do a search for "bumper swap". Also check out the Tech Articles for a few different ways of doing it.

Most bumper re-chroming companies can straighten bent bumpers.

The Parts Wanted section of this forum is a great place to start for a replacement.
Else, junkyards, ebay and aftermarket fiberglass pieces are available.

As Mercgt73 said - do a search on the subject - everything from the early Maverick will swap over to your 76 but you will have to deal with some fender differences where the early gravel guard goes to the early notched fenders but there are some easy documented solutions for you on this forum :thumbs2:

Wow, that rechromed bumper really looks great! Can anyone suggest what a reasonable price for such work may be? Have a bumper that is not quite as bad as that one started out and would love to see it in the shape your's ended up in Frank...

I was considering painting mine. Its always another option...maybe not a good one if you like chrome though, like I do. 250... gotta consider that as affordable to save a maverick bumper from the recycle bin. (y)

I'm now the proud owner of a 74 maverick!!!

I hate my front bumper! It's just to chunky for my taste. I think it takes away from the real beauty of my car. I want "Blue" to look fierce and mean not a Sunday go to meetin' car for grandma.
