White walls....:vomito:same with white letters... I think I`m going to pull the leafs, and have them re-arched (no matter what anyone thinks) It is sitting a little low in the rear...I like the 70`s series tire, it fills the wheel well out, and it`s close to the diameter of the original tire. :)

Your car looks so close to factory, if it were mine I wouldn't do anything to it that a dealer wouldn't have done to it in '73. (OE style mags, maybe? Or as mentioned earlier, put the correct hood and stencil on it?) If I changed anything, I'd push your green car just the few more inches it would take to make it even more stock looking. Little details in the engine compartment, air cleaner, that kind of thing... In my opinion, you've got the other car to do all the things you held back on the '73 because of the stockish look you wanted and achieved. I'd let the new project be the "restomod" and keep the green one more just "resto." ...But I kinda got the impression that's where your mind was at anyway.

    Dave,

I think this car is super as-is ... very well-executed. You've just been looking at it the same for too long, and I understand that too.

That kind of thinking drove me to temporarily thinking of selling my Comet to start a new project about 5 years ago. Fortunately, I hung around here long enough to re-light the fire under my butt and give me some inspiration to run with.

I'd vote for a set of 15 inch Magnums (or course!!!) to break you out of that 14 inch wheel gridlock that is only going to get worse. Or just switch the backs to some 15 inch steelies and keep the dog dishes .... build just a slight "rubber rake" into it with a little extra diameter. Maybe have Stockton wheel make a pair to get the offset and tire stuffing perfect.... about an extra 3/4" offset on each wheel would get the tire more centered in the wheelwell if I am remembering how my car measured out.

Maybe I am missing something here. Couldn't you step the 60 series rear tire up to a 245 or 255-60, to compensate for the tire height ? Are you saying that, you can't get a 60 series tire that is the same height as your 70 series front tires? :)

I would agree with the factory aluminum wheels or the Magnum 500 wheels. Both would look good on your car.

The issue with that is, mixing a 60 series tire, with a 70, the 60 looks smaller due to the sidewall height, and the difference in the tires is almost an inch in diameter.
I was thinking that this afternoon....I do have a set of factory forged wheels, but I've been saving them for my 74 Grabber.
    Ummm..no....
