I am wanting to rebuild my front suspension. I am looking at kit on eBay fron Laurel Mountain Mustang for $549 includes everything. Another kit on there is $319 not as complete but can upgrade with srpings and shocks.

Question #1 should I get the "show" all black UCA's and LCA's or stock/two-toned metal and black ones.

#2 Do I really need all the parts in more complete kit, tie rods, idler arm, sway bar etc?

Looking at price vs. what I really need. I think the complete kit is better value, but do I need all those parts? Laurel does offer a stock package with 2 toned Control Arms too.

My car is a 72 Grabber with 302 and power steering 40xxx original miles.

at this point if it is worn out enought o look at replacing some parts you should go ahead and replace them all and get a performance oriented alignment done

Car floats down road some, figure suspension is more age/dry rotted than worn out because of low mileage. I'm gonna be doing front disc swap soon and everyone says replace suspension while I'm at it, so just trying to figure what its gonna cost me.

Is there a "stock" looking good replacement front shock? Laurel kits come with KYB and wont look stock I don't think.

    I agree wont look stock.
Hopefully someone will have the answer as to if they make a stock looking one.
I don't want my car stock so haven't paid attention in my parts hunting.
Could just rebuild yours with the rebuild kit. I would if I was staying stock.
Cheaper, and your right its probably just the rubber parts dry rotted.

Good thread. I may be looking at doing the same thing soon. Any recomendations on where to buy, and quality of the kits? I was thinking of just buying all the pieces from RockAuto and going with all Moog if I could, or are the kits just as good? For sure don't want poly stuff, rather have stock style rubber. Heard too much bad on the poly stuff, stiff ride, squeaks, breaking strut rods, etc.

Yeah, I have heard nothing positive about poly myself.
Not sure about the kits..didn't read close enough as to the materials.
Mine is at least a few months away.
Gonna keep a eye out on what everyone else ends up using (y)

I got all my stuff frm Rock. I got all Moog parts cept for a few they did not show a Moog part for. Im not that comfortable w/ what they may include in the kits - I trust the Moog brand. jmo
