Obviously new on here. Have a '70 model that we pulled out of a pasture. Lot's of good parts but still looking for a rebuildable one. Got it for my son when he was 8 and let him dis assemble how he wanted to. Made him bring me the parts and tell me what they were and what they were for. Turns out it was a fairly good teaching and learning tool. Only had to help pull the block and tranny.
to the site. Wish my pops would of had the free time to encourage me when I was younger. He worked 120 hour weeks. I am lucky I even know what he looks like Kudos on teaching hims responsibility and building his confidence by letting him pull all the parts and show and tell them to you. Most likely got a life long car nut on your hands now though...
I'm building a 69.5 now with my 15 year old. He picked it over a 47 chevy buisness coupe. Swapped over to a 5 lug and disk brakes so far, along with several other small things. Been fun watching his eyes glow. Good luck to you and your son.
from Northeast Pennsylvania I think a Father/Son project is great - I wish my own son was more mechanical
