    I am planning my next step on my car. Once I have enough money to actually eat again :)cry:), I was going to start on the interior. It needs a lot.

    * door panels (going to try and make some)
    * seat recovered
    *floor sound proofing
    * carpet
    * cluster lights/lenses- maybe even a tach integration
    * column and dash painted
    * get my dash cap to actually fit
    * side panels painted

    Probably more that I am not even knowledgeable about.

    Any ideas on what order or anything obvious I am missing?

    Thanks again for all your help

    Seat upholstery...Unless you want to do it, your gonna have to farm it out. It will be the most expensive part or the interrior re-do...Carpet, painting column and dash you can do yourself...Instrument cluster could get pricey depending on the route you go with em. Then theres the headliner (If you need one) Cheap to buy...Cheap to install if you do it yourself...(Its not a simple task) Door panels and rear panels. I'm surprised you havent found any for sale on the forum that you could use...Good luck!!!

    Headliner is being replaced at the body shop. I bought a new windshield, so I had it done when the glass was out.
    My plastic rear and kick panels are not bad, just scratched up. My door panels are actually in good shape, cept for the red overspray a small tear at the very top, and bunching up. I just want to try and make new.

    Thanks for the advice.

    You'll probably have to replace your package tray as well. I know mine has turned to dust. Autokrafters sells them.

    It is also a good time to install speakers/run wires. Craig has a thread about one that fits in your dash if you want to keep the factory look.

    Also, you probably want to look at your sill plates and polish or replace them. They are in the Autokrafters Maverick catalog but I can't find them online so new ones might be hard to find.

    These are all things I am planning to do once I can get to the stage your at.

    Floor sound proofing and carpet. That way you don't have to take out the seats again. And saves on work time.

    The bulk of my build thread here has been interior ....

    http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=55560

    Empty that floor and check it over. Any issues, start there. From your avatar, it looks like you are well on your way there.

    If you have any cowl issues, go get them now. Best time while the heat or AC is out of the way and if you have the windshield out.

    Paint any interior metal pillars etc. while headliner and door seat are out.

    You probably want to paint the door jambs the exterior color now too, depending on how the exterior paint plans run. I would think that a lot of painters would want that done, hang the doors, and then be able to spray the outside of the car assembled, especially if you are going to a metallic paint, etc. Then just blend the jambs afterward.

    As I was putting mine back together, I had the carpet set in place for months, but resisted doing a final trim around the edges until I had pretty much everything else in there. I wanted it to completely relax. It was formed and close, but still rode high on the floor in spots. Thinking a steamer machine might have helped if you are pressed (pun intended :D) for time. Only after bolting down the seats, did I do a final trim on the door jams. I was worried it may come up a bit short. Saved the nasty original carpet too long, just to have the idea how to do the corners, etc that tuck under the side panels.
