Need a measurement or two.....

Trying to line up a front suspension and need to know a few things. What are the measurements of the front frame rails near the suspension mounting points? 2x3? 2x2?

Also, can someone measure the engine compartment from inside edge of the radiator to the firewall and the distance between the front frame rails at the front suspension, please?

26.5" inside frame rail to inside frame rail at midway between where the A arms would have been. 37 5/8" radiator support to fire wall at center. My car is stripped and waiting for an R&C crossmember.

My 71 Comet's front rail is 3 inches high by 2 inches wide.

I was wondering what you were up to. That would work. What is it? It looks like it will need some extra metal. Might flex inward. However if that main crossmember could be slotted into the framerails it could be a bichin setup, looks like there could be road clearance issues under neath.

That is the "generic" show piece from Scott's Hotrods in Oxnard, California. http://www.scottshotrods.com/frontends.asp Mine wouldn't be done exactly like that. Main thing I like about the setup are the A-arms and coil over design. I'd also not use that Fox body style rack either. We would be doing a lightweight Pinto-style rack with 2" dropped spindles.

Oh yeah.....did I mention the Coyote engine?
