The wife and I spent the day at the 18th Annual Butner (NC) Chicken Pickin' car show, craft, food, etc event. It was a beautiful day for it -- 80*, sunny, breezy and low humidity. Had about 200 cars and lots of people. There was a 60s Comet but no other '70s Comets or Mavericks. Not a lot of '70s Fords there but the Sprint got the Best '70s Ford trophy. We were parked between two very nice Bow Ties but the Maverick got much more interest. Heard about two other Mavericks and an all-Ford club in Henderson, NC which I/we will check out next week. It was a fun day.
Thanks. Where in Michigan are you? Wife and I grew up in Port Huron. I'm really wanting to get back with the Sprint for one of their cruizes. The burn outs are fantastic!! They fill the air with tire smoke!!
Near Kalamazoo. We've only been up here for a few years but so far are enjoying it. Are you going to the roundup this year? I'll be there at least for the show day.
Probably not. Timing just isn't working out. Wife and I are celebrating our 50th anniversary on 8/11 with a party here. Friends and family that we visit every year in Port Huron will be coming to Raleigh for that. Last year we coordinated our annual MI trip with the Roundup so we could at least attend, although without the Maverick. We'll probably head for MI in the Fall this year. And, I'm thinking about the Port Huron show/cruize. Maybe make a quickie trip up for that. I'd love to make that one year and there's a special kid that would really enjoy riding shotgun in the cruize. Any chance you'd make that? http://www.bluewater.org/event/blue-water-open-cruise-car-show/ Would be fun to have two Sprints in the cruize.
Congrats on the trophy. It is probably even more special for the fact that you killed the bowties to get it. Bobo
