73 bumpers

    i havent had any luck finding any bumpers for my wifes 73 so i said i will check with autokrafers well they bust my bubble real quick with that 425 price..so i checked around for rechroming the cheapest so far is 375.. one more to check that i know of is tri-city.... when did rechroming get so high? its kills me i can buy front and back bumper for a mustang for a little over 200 dollars... i think i paid 298 for my 74 charger bumper and its way bigger than the mavs/comets... i guess everything has went up......

    I think it is called EPA. A lot of restrictions to operate and depose of chemicals.

    The reason you can buy Mustang bumpers so cheap, is the market is massive compared to Mavericks, the EPA has nothing to do with it, since they are made overseas.
    The materials alone required to refinish a bumper have all gone up.

    Plus....the Mustang repops are not that good. VERY cheap chrome on them. Just enough to call it "chrome".

    And 73 front bumper is a year of its own so they are hard to come by. Have you posted in the wanted section? maybe somebody swapped theirs to a small bumper. Too bad you arent in AZ., I know where a 73 bumper is in the junkyard in decent shape. shipping would be a killer though.

    Ive been looking at the gallery to see how a 73 front bumper would looked painted but all I see is small front bumper some reason I dont know if I.should paint it might look weird..

    There is a "chrome" powder coating you could use.

    It looks pretty nice.

    Do a Google search for some pics.

    It should be a lot cheaper than re-chroming.
