I awoke to find that someone broke my windshield, side windows and back window, as well as slashed all 4 tires on my maverick.
I called police, they said at least 8 other cars had been vandalized in a 3 mile radius same time. And they are working on catching the culprit/s.

Got to love humanity sometimes, oh well least it wasn't JUST my car..as that would of made it worse to me anyway

Anybody know if the glass is still produced? As Statefarm came out, and the agent said "Wow never seen one of these before, I wonder if you can even get glass for them"
Made me a little worried as to whats going to happen next , let me tell you what. :16suspect
Have to ride my bike to work...rainy even..suckage.

Windshields are made, no problem. Quarter window glass can be bought used, there are plenty of people with those parts. Door glass can be bought used. Years ago, my rear glass was replaced with new, so I think they are still made.

If you can, get factory tinted glass, which is what came with the A/C cars (I think). There is more info about it by doing a search.

Surprisingly they missed busting the quarter windows.
Maybe the tool they where using was to big... dunno.
To top it off I just got all the broken glass cleaned up, and went to start my car and the starter wont turn..just grind noise. So looks like I have to replace that too. Could sale the car for scrap metal :D
Why in the hell is the starter under the motor... what a pain in the *#@!!:biglaugh:

Thanks. If the price goes to high to replace based on what Statefarm gives me might become a parts car... and will be looking for another one. :16suspect

It must be good to realise it was not a Crazy X lookin for payback. It happened to a co worker inside a Govt Compound. His nutty G Friend wiped out his new Porshe with a big crowbar.

Sorry to hear about your ride Big, on the starter issue i would try to turn the motor over by hand ---- maybe a quarter of a turn, then get in and see if the starter will crank it. You may just have a bad spot on the ring gear.

When they price out the new windows make sure they include new front and rear weatherstripping. the old stuff will be in not shape to install with a new window if its been in there for a while.

Good point Ryan. Sorry to hear this Big. I know that finding you weren't targeted specifically helps some some but it still sucks that someone wld do that! My car is no jewel yet but i keep it in the back, fenced in yard for that very reason and if anybody gets in and finds a place to hide from my dogs, they'll be glad to see me when I get there with either the cops or a shotgun... and they'll likely be bleeding and maybe missing some small parts given up to the dogs. Then again, I might just find the dogs still feeding...

If it helps, I got the door glass for both sides and the rear glass as well. Don't know where in the USA you are but I live near Nashville TN. They're yours to have free of charge if you pay the shipping costs and packaging. Ah!, provided yours is a 2 door car. Let me know if this is something worth your while............

    Thanks guys.
Yeah, I was just going to replace the starter tomorrow, as I don't feel like rebuilding the starter atm.
Funny story, I have weatherstripping I put together from a roll I bought a week or so ago, so getting correct stripping would be worth the headache I am dealing with.

Just waiting on Statefarm to tell me what they are giving me.. or where they want the car taken for repairs.:(

Wow Big, sorry you had this happen, don't give up on the Maverick!!! you already have an offer for replacement glass for the sides and back, and the windshield can still be gotten from some glass company's, I had mine ordered overnight.
