91 mustang motor in maverick hooker headers hiting on driver side

    Are you trying to get it in from the top? You have to jack the car up as high as you can, then jack the engine up about 2-3 inches and put the header in from the bottom.

    They definitely have to go in from underneath. You need to get the car as high as you safely can. Use jackstands.:)

    no i tried from the bottom i have power steering so i know i will need ps drop down bracket but i tried and its clse and as far as the tranny goes..... if your looking at the engine from the front of the car the trans is sitting a little to the left ont striaght...just enought so it wont drop into the crossmember 71 gold sold me......

    maybe the tranny is why i cant get the headder in? idk

    will the 6901 hooker header hit any of the linkage for the steering?

    Do you have the column shift linkage. I have the column shift and power steering and had to go with the headman short tube headers, 88400. My car is a 77 and evidently uses a different linkage bracket so the exhaust guy had to modify the driver side header and do a little trimming on things to get things in and hooked up. It seems like each model and option list is different and requires their own tweeking. :huh::tiphat:

    On mine I have to install the driver's side first, otherwise I can't get the flange past the steering box.
