I tried buying a turn signal switch for my 72 Comet from Autokrafters, but for some reason (and I'm the first and only complaint they have received so far and all the others in stock are the same) the electrical wires are too long by like 6+ inches and the angle at which the turn signal lever screws in is off so that it hits the bottom of the column on left turn mode. Was it the wrong part or is my column just weird?

    autokrafters part number D2AZ-13341C

I returned the part to Autokrafters already wondering if I got a wrong product. apparently it's the same as all the others they have and I'm the first one to complain

That's weird they said it is made by shee-mar but they don't even come close to retaining the original Shee-mar number... and I quote..

"This is a reproduction turn signal switch made in the U.S.A. by the original maker of the Ford switch, Shee-Mar. "

but the Shee-mar number is SM44f... don't ask me why but for some reason I just happen to remember that number.. cant remember my 2 year olds birthday but I can sure remember that number...

I actually contacted Shee-mar directly. apparently they no longer make the SM44F turn signal switch. I've checked everywhere I could and can't find anything :(

Did they say why they are not making it anymore?

That's weird they don't make it any more, they have it listed in the 2011 catalog, but then again they don't have a 2012 catalog up.

Really makes you wonder because it is used in about every ford car between 1970 and 1972...
