Friends don't let friends use silicone on chrome.

Spent most of last night working on my windshield and rear window chrome. But with a lot of wadding polish, elbow grease and what was left of my fingernails, I think it will be passable.

I guess being the woman of the house has its advantages. No one will yell at me for making a mess of the kitchen table and counter tops. (See picture - that is after cleaning it a few times in the process.)

 

Looks good! Always wondered why people try to seal the windshield from the outside of the moldings, probably still leaked too.

 

I'm dealing with more of a "friends don't let friends get near windshield chrome with a DA sander" issue.

 

Thanks Dan. It leaked a little, but I kept her in the garage until I could fix it properly by replacing the seals.

I have fixed leaks with "flowable sealer" and a nylon trim stick to pull the weather strip up a little to let the sealer get in. Works great.

 

Yeah, that activity would get me a world of trouble.

 

Yeah they are installed and the kitchen is clean.



Next gotta add the strip kit and then decide what to do with the engine. Rebuild - Rebuild and bore out with custom cam - Swap with 302. (or should say have done - Engines blocks are beyond my grade level.)

Nice job. My wife wouldn't care as long as I didn't ruin the table. After all it's her car.

 

You should order some of the correct wipers (silver). Most vintage mustang places sell them. I think it makes a huge difference.

 

I have them, but I can't find blades refills anywhere in town, just complete replacements (the black ones). The silver wipers are somewhere in the garage. I plan on searching the internet for blades. Just haven't had the time
