Will a Fairmont Sport Steering wheel fit a maverick?

    I know a guy that has thir Fairmont for sale. I saw the pics of the interior and noticed it had a Sport steering wheel on that looks pristine. I didnt know the Fairmonts had this kind of wheel, if its original to the car. And will it fit a Maverick? Hes about an hour and a half away so a long drive to test fit.

    Yes the wheel will fit just fine, make sure you have a wheel puller

    The Faimont wheel probably does not have the horn button. I know the 78 we had was on the turn signal stalk.

    And if the car came from the factory, its proly by law in some states, that it is operational. Not that any cop is going to check. I like my Horn.

    If it does not have the horn button option then the steering wheel will not lock when key is removed

    Generally true in NC too. But, any vehicle 35 years old or older doesn't need an inspection. :D

    Horns are great for getting people on cell phones back in their lane. :clap:

    My car has no horn right now anyways. Ill see if I can work out a trade with the guy, maybe he will want my galuminum grant steering wheel. He was just selling it as a drag car project anyways but he has decided to keep the car.

    Tilt column too, if he wants to build a race car I would try to make a deal on both.. Maybe help him swap in your column and steering wheel...

    Not even going to think about doing that. The fairmont is a rack and pinion car and probably a totally different length. plus all the mounts and the wiring. Oh No, not this year. Ill be happy if I figure out my existing wiring problem.
