For those who may have installed the Rod & Custom M2 front end kit...any idea how much weight savings there is over the factory shock tower/A arm setup?

    Thanks...

No, but I wish I'd have weighed everything when I did mine. It seems to me that the R&C stuff was heavier than what came out...

i would expect it to be heavier. the only heavy parts of the stock stuff is the steering box , springs, spindles and brakes. you still have spindles springs and brakes on the m2 conversion so no weight savings there. sure you can get light weight brakes but you can do that on the stock set up.
the whole crossmember for a m2 is much heavier than the belly bar. the rack and pinion are most likely a little lighter than the steering box but combined with the cross member i would suspect the total weight to be more.

Hmmm...I would have thought the tubular control arms and such would have made it lighter. Along with removing the shock towers...oh well...I guess I'll find out in the fall lol.

For weight you need to go to a strut style setup

It's really not that big a deal. I was just wondering if there were any weight savings. It's not a deal breaker either way lol...

I put a Heidts kit on a Rambler and the crossmember was heavy. Very nice kit though.
