After I rebuilt the engine, I started running VR-1 cause of the cam and I just stuck with it since then, but I'm thinking of switching to a good synthetic.

I don't mean to hijack here, but I have a quick question... Is the rumor true that if you switch to synthetic oil, you can't go back to regular oil?

I have a Taurus with a 3.0 DOHC that I bought with 118,000 miles on it, always serviced at the dealership with vat oil, and I switched it to synthetic. It now has 209,000 miles 4 years later, with no problems at all from the engine. It really starts better when it's cold outside with the synth. They fixed all those early problems with synthetic years ago, but the myth still holds on.
