So I have been driving my 1972 Grabber almost every day for 2 1/2 months with a POS turn signal switch. I was able to wire a toggle switch into the turn signal switch harness to still have turn signals, but no brake lights. I've been driving in St. Paul, MN this summer and can't limp along anymore without everything working properly.

Now the big question: Where can I buy a new turn signal switch?!?!

Will the mustang switch of the same year work?

The cheapest place I found it was at rockauto online. I bought mine through them. Hope that helps.

From what I understand the manufacturer that made the replacement turn signal assemblys no longer makes them.

It was shee-mar and the part number was SM44 it is either that or find a NOS assembly. The problem with the turn signal assemblys is they were a 2 1/2 year run part and none of the cars they were on are considered the very desireable ones, even the mustangs for 71 and 72 arent considered that great of a demand.

Thanks. I ordered one yesterday and got the shipment notice this morning. I looked for a switch before and didn't find one. But can't remember if I checked RockAuto or not.

I looked at RockAuto and they have the switch for the 1970 Maverick, but not '71 or '72. What are the differences in the switches?

Most of the 70's they are listing are for the steering columns that dont have the ignition switch integrated into them. The 71 and 72 are different.
