Ok I have an 1971 Ford Maverick Inline 6 Two door

it has sat for near 20 years motor is locked up i have a ford 302 to put in it

but my question is... Is it too far gone there is rust on all four quarter panels and all the way across the doors and floor pans are rusted... The Trunk also suffers the same fate and some places within the car under back seat a place bout the size of a silver dollar rusted out I have pics but it wont let me post them... Is this car really worth fixing up???

    Thanks for any help, Trey

Main concern with the car is the amount of time and money that will go into the body not necessarily the mechanical components of the car... Thanks

And I couldn't believe maverickdude wasn't already taken too

Rust damage is not cheap or fun to fix. Sometimes its best to walk away

There are a lot of rust free cars out there. Buy one and use this one as a parts car, or sell parts off of it. Welcome to the board.:Welcome:

Too far gone. Even if it was rust free, every bit of wiring, brake lines, fuel lines are going to have to be gone through. It will more than likely need a headliner and interior as well. When it is all said and done, nothing from the car originally will be reused. Might as well start with another car.

    This will help:

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
Depends on your wallet, but these cars are really affordable that it doesn't make sense to start with a rustbucket. Unless it has sentimental value.

If your brother hasn't done any rust repair before I would find something else. Where are you located?
