I have been reading through post for the past 2 hours trying to find a fix to my problem and couldnt find anything, so I'm just gonna ask.

I picked up a 1970 with a 250 automatic factory air car. The air was removed.

It was sitting for a while so I has the carb professionally done, change plugs, cap, rotor, etc.....typical stuff you would do to a car sitting for 5 years. The only repair I had to made was on the heat tube for the choke. It was rotted out so I made a new one out of cooper line.

Starts and runs awesome! I drive it around and every once in a while I'll get a hesitation and almost like a "bucking". I assumed vacuum leak so I checked all the hoses and replaced the bad ones and the problem is still there.

I drove her for about 40 miles today and it comes and goes.

Any suggestions you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated.

I would check the fuel filter, lines and or pump..Could also be just bad gas.

Filter is new. I was thinking about the pump, but I wasn't sure if that would cause an intermittent problem.

When I got the car the tank had pretty much no gas in it. I filled it up with premium gas and some additive.

If nothing else comes up I'll give the pump a shot. Its like 20 bucks....worth it for piece of mind down the road.

If that tank was empty, there could be rust inside the tank, which would clog up a fuel filter quickly.

Pop that filter off and take a look inside, you will know quickly if that is the issue or not.

I still have the points. Pertronix kit should be here by Monday. I'm gonna peek in the tank tomorrow and see what it looks like in there.
