this is my rollbar setup right now and my interior...excited about getting the cage done and a more solid rear firewall installed. Today I removed the seats, the carpet, the fire suppression system and harness to get the carpet out and installed just the driver's seat.
here are 2 pics of the trunk and rear fire wall...I had a 0.032 wide aluminum piece in there before but wanted something more solid....
can anyone think of anything else I should have the guy do when he is finishing up my cage? I will have him weld on some tabs so that my seat belts stop sliding around on behind my seat.... gonna have him do the firewall of course...he will put the bar for the window net...he will actually also change the door bar to sit higher and it will be a swing out type...problem is this one sits too far below my elbow as mentioned before ...
Agreed... Just send me your car I will take care of it...most of the mods you have already done I am in the process of trying to do
gonna drive the car over like this tomorrow and hand it over. gonna leave one seat in. I started gutting the dash so the fabricator can just pull it on and off easily. no matter what I do with my wires after a few months it becomes a disaster...
as per most mfgrs rec's.. I usually pull the grounds off anything sensitive like tachs and especially ignition boxes. I've welded many cars without doing it by the book.. but doing it with ECM's and higher dollar components still attached can be a gamble.
from what i understand is that if the battery is still in the circuit it will absorb the voltage spikes. the best thing to do is to remove the electrical components all together.
the cage is coming along... and they are working on the rear package tray/firewall. this is going on the bar behind the seat for the seat belt harness
Looks good. Hopefully you'll never need the cage but ... Check out this video and see why a good cage is a must:
