I do believe that if you take your VIN to a Ford dealer, they can cut a key to fit the ignition. Give them a call or call a locksmith to find out for sure. Hope that helps as I'm not sure how to get one out without the key..

I dont think the Vin# will work. When these cars were new, they came with a small round disc with a number embossed on it. That was the number you need to get a key made. Here is a picture of one for my 71. How many of these do you see these days? You can easily get a new key made though, by taking out the door lock and going to a locksmith. Door locks are real easy to remove.

Yep - I remember those disks now. Reason the VIN came to mind, is I just had a guest from out of state that locked his keys in his F250. They popped on down to the dealer and they made him a key off the VIN.

Dave, if you are pulling the whole steering column, you could take the whole thing into the locksmith.
