Installed Philips Hi-Intensity LED driving lights. Still have to paint the mounting bracket, clean-up wiring and make a minor adjustment on light beam angle. These lights trigger on automatically when the car is running. Wiring diaghram indicate wiring to the parkin lites so they turn-off when light sw is pull on.
Here in Canada they are required on anything newer than 1990. They are an excellent safety feature, as you can be seen much sooner by other motorists than without them.
Looks good and I like were you installed them... But I would want the option to use them at night too...
"Daytime Drivin Lites"...or just...headlights on in daytime? I drive the Mav. with my parking lights on in the daytime...is this the same thing?
Similar, but not quite as bright as DRLs (Daytime Running Lights). I drive with my markers/parking lights on too rather than installing DRLs where I put my foglights.
DRL's are one safety feature I really like. Its amazing how much easier it is to pick up on a car especially in the mirrors. Cant believe the US market didnt adopt this.
No! These lites can be seen at a much greater distance than the parkin lites, and u don't have to remember to turn them on/off, they go off auto abt 10 sec after the alt stop supplying juice. I like um...
I definitely agree with the advantages of DRL's. I used to have people pull out in front of me on 41 on a regular basis and I had gotten into the habit of running with my lights on and it seemed to help somewhat. I had installed an LDO grill with the turn signals mounted in it about a year after I bought the car and removed the turn signals from under the bumper. A couple of years ago, my wife bought the clear lenses for the 70 Mustang sport lamps since they fit in our LDO grill turn signal housings so I run the sport lamps on a hot in run power feed for the DRL function and re-installed my turn signals below the bumper.
this is the way I have mine...they are more...fog lights... http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=77768
