Drove it to an all ford show at a local dealer in the morning. Got alot of nice comments on it even though I didnt plan on showing it to be judged, just wanted to hang out. Then at night went to the weekly cruise-in and hung out for a while. It was a good Maverick kind of day.

Switched to 3g alternator. Fun trip to the junkyard, found a pretty much brand new alt sitting in a 98 taurus. Swapped the pulley from my old one stuck it on. Got it to charge the battery. Cleaned up my tools got in the car to drive it home from my sisters house. And the battery wouldn't charge. Awesome.

Tomorrow I get to try and figure out why it won't charge.

Very productive day. First, I tore out the rusted battery tray and bolted in a new one. It's nice to have the battery actually tied down with more than just a flimsy bungee cord.

Also pulled off the floppy, driver-side sport mirror and reinstalled it the correct way. This made it so I could put the door pannel and everything else back on it and finish up the interior. It looks great!

A couple of weeks ago I rebuilt the carb that was in desperate need of it but when I reinstalled it it wouldn't run. Figured out there was an electrical problem and I wasn't getting spark from the distributor. Replaced the cracked rotor but it still wasn't happy. Finally today I replaced the distributor cap and it started right up! Spent some time dialing in the carb and drove it around the block for the first time in over a month! Anxious to drive it again.

They are originally a very hard plastic. As long as what you have used is the same size, you have fixed it correctly.

Installed 1" drop blocks, while I was at it went ahead and bolted the LakeWoods on also, the one inch drop blocks give me plenty of room to get the rear disc calipers on!!
    Plumbing brake lines tomorrow......

So your saying the original bushings are hard plastic? The one I took off (black) was hard (I thought because it's age) but a little squishy (that's why I think it's rubber). The replacements I got (white) are hard plastic and pita to install.
