I found a C4 in a 1975 Maverick. According to the VIN, I think it should have a 302 but it has an Inline-6. Not sure if it is 200 or the 250.

    Just wondering, is the bell housing the same for 200/250 & a 302 / 5.0L ?

    Thanks

    Waid

The bellhousing is the same for a 302 and 250. The 200 has a smaller bellhousing the easiest way to tell the difference is the 200 housing has the starter more towards the top where the 302 housing has the starter mounted low.

I just posted a pic of the VIN. By the way, this car had disk brakes too!

Besides the starter, is there anything that would let me know which motor is it?

I can get the C4 cheap and just want one as a project to rebuild one!

    Thanks

    A 250 has 4 waterpump bolts. A 200 has 3. This is the easiest way to tell a 200 from a 250! :)

Problem is you don't know if the trans in it now is the orig... If it has a 200 I'd bet it isn't...
