You might consider verifying the year and engine. Here is a link to the different years of wireing.. http://1bad6t.com/Maverick/repair/chassis_electrical_05.html
Thanks Dave ... found that one. Well I actually put my glasses on and broke out a flashlight ... had another look at mine. I have a wire bundle that runs along the upper driver side valve cover. It has two wires with that kind of end on it ... both black, and another with an oval shaped end with male and female section... and these are taped back, hooked to nothing. I would swear that the choke for the original motor would have been on the passenger side. Maybe this was emission stuff that I did away with long before the engine swap. I am now curious as far as what they would be, too. I did this at least 15 years ago ( I thought perhaps with the motor swap). These are in the same bundle as the wire for the oil pressure sender, and ignition wiring. The wiring for the washer pump is a separate bundle and has a much different end.
This is true for my car also. I do not have the yellow with black stripe wire, so it may be for an electric choke. My choke is a heat tube.
That is where mine originates from ... it is clipped up to the front edge of the cowl and drops down to the intake manifold. The only stuff that would have originally been on the car that this is close to this wire loom is the A/C compressor, power steering, and whatever was on the intake. Like I stated earlier, the ignition, water temp, and oil pressure wiring is taped in there too. Jumping from the cowl to the intake, there are two disconnect plugs that continue on, and a third empty one.
That's where mine comes from also.......So whats a good wire I can use to hook up my choke? Can I do it off my starter solenoid?
choke pwr 1974 through 1977 use the white w black tracer for the electric choke. there was no electric choke before that, it was heated from the exhaust manifold gases through a small tube.........
The wire looks similar to the second one on this thread http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=86756&highlight=electric+choke
For an Edelbrock carb .. you just ground the Electric Choke to one of the screws that you loosen to adjust the choke. Works perfect.
