I recently bought a set of Bucket Seats from a 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1. I am trying to install them into a 1971 Maverick that had an orginal Bench seat. I have the tracks & all for the Buckets any ideas what would be the best way to make them work. Thanks Joe
Bolt the tracks to the seats. Drill the four inside holes for the tracks to mount to the floor (the outer four holes from your bench can be re-used). Install and drive it. Am I missing something? What is the problem you are having?
It looks like it's that easy but usually never works that easy for me. Was just wondering figured someone would have already done something similar on here. Thanks for your advice.
Would you need Maverick tracks if your going to shim and adjust the height of the Mustang tracks ? I thought that you need Maverick tracks just to get level ?
Just for you Rick.. Mustang seat tracks do not work very well in Mavericks, since the profile of the Maverick floor differs from the profile of the floor in a Mustang. It's not that it can't be done, it just won't work very well, without more work than it's probably worth.
Zip I was going to make a template out of cardboard for the placement of the bolt holes. With this I would find if any of the holes would be on a rounded surface. If not I would think it,s just a lot of shiming to get the right height and pitch. If anybody's used Mustang tracks they can jump in at any time PLEASE. Rick
