OK....most of you know (my) car, the 75 Maverick :drive:. She looks great as she sits :D but I am considering changing the wheels. Looking for opinions - comments :hmmm:. As you all know there are hundreds of great custom wheels on the market :yahoo: So......if money was not a concern :rofl2: (not that it isn't - but for the sake of conversation) and you could go out and get any type of "custom wheel" you could , what would you put on this "Glossy Black" Maverick to set her off, something full chrome (y), something more classic , something solid black :bananaman, black and chrome ....interested in some comments . Thanks.

I favor black w/ polished alum outer rims.

The Magnum 500 are nice....sort of "Old School", somewhat "Original" for the car and year and I was also looking at the Black center mags with the Chrome or Polished outer rims. I want to keep the Deep Black look going on the car but accent the wheels...so a little chrome just may do the trick. Thanks for the input....looking for some more suggestions.

I'm running black spoke '95 Cobra R replicas on my 2000 Ranger.

I'm running Weld wheel Rod-lites! I do like the looks of the 500's though.

I like the cobra black spokes....I'm thinking I'm going to go with Black insert (spokes - mags) and Chrome outers......thanks

Thanks for the web site. Since I live about 30-40 minutes from Summit Racing (Akron/Talmadge, Ohio) I just may take a drive and see what they have at the showroom, but the web site allows me to look at all the options. Presently the car has 70-80s Crown Vic wheels on it...they look great but again I have to put "My Touch" on the car...previous owner (Chuck) also is interested in buying the present wheels back, so possibly I can defer my cost a little of the new ones, again thanks.

your right, Im running 275x40x17s on 9.5 in wheels and I have them tucked just a tad and there is absolutely no more room under there unless you start doing some modifying.

I think for your car the magnum 500's would be AWESOME or some bear cat wheels painted black with just the trim of the holes chromed :thumbs2:

Allot of options....and since the cost isn't really minimal, considering cost of rims/tires...my decision is going to be one I have to live with...at least for a while.

But, as I stated....wanting to keep the "Brilliant Black" look, that's what first stands out when you see the car......and othing looks better than "Black & Chrome".....Black&Chrome combination on the rims must be the choice.

Black Bullitts with polished lip are always a good "Black & Chrome" combo.

I had an idea for those that like the look of original style wheels, but also like the handling advantages and mod styling of newer 17" & 18" wheels...

For those where money is no object....

    .................................................17"X 7"-8"-9" & 11".
    A staggered 17"X7" and 17"X8" set of 4 costs around $1,200

Or, if you're on a budget....

You can find used sets for anywhere from $200-$600. Invest in some spacer/adapters, you got modern size with retro looks

Are any members here running the Mach-1 or other 17" Magnums style rims on their Mav/Comet?
