is it possible to run two 2.25 exhaust pipes over the passenger side of the axle? i want to use a dual in dual out muffler on my car.
I would be love to know if this system from Pypes would work. It's on my list to do for the early Mustangs but I bet it would be really close for a Maverick.
I don't think a muffler would fit between the gas tank and the axle. Very small area on a Maverick. Not sure of the early Mustangs had more room in that area???
there was a guy up here that had both pipes comming ou the same side, having a hard time looking for the thread, gonna take a look in the image gallery
as jeff's picture shows it is possible to run 2 pipe over the passenger side of the axle but i think anything larger then 2.25 is going to be pushing it at stock ride height

Craig I only need about 7" from the rear to the front of the tank but I think the bigger issue would be the shocks. Still would be an interesting experiment.
I don't see what the big deal is. Might need to run slight angles shortly after coming off the mufflers.. or keep mufflers tighter to the driveshaft.. to stay between the pumpkin and the upper end of the shock.. but I have seen some similarly tunneled Ford cars(Mav's included) running around St. Paul with 3.5-4 inch over-axle exhausts and have plenty of room to spare. If you really want them tight?.. just come off the dual outlet muffler with slight inward radii to merge and buddy them up with tack welds. Why all the hubub to get 2 pipes running out the back? To split them towards each side to achieve that "dual look"?
