Where have you guys been getting these? obviously there are probably no new units Valve or Cylinders right and only rebuilds right? looking for one for a 73 in general with a 302 since i think hoses are specific to the engine if i recall. i DON'T want a rebuild kit for the Valve because well, i can use the time more wisely and i just want both as new or a rebuild units. given googled this, however wanted some suggestions from anyone whom knows of any good places, part numbers, etc? thanks!
Try Rode's Restoration, Galion, OH. 44833------- PH#--1-419-468-5182. He rebuilds Ford pwr steering components.
I replaced all my p/s stuff from Napa. Only took a few days to get to me also. Might be more expensive then other places, but it was convenient. Don't forget your local shops also, you might be surprised what you find. Yes it was rebuilt. So far no problems going on 5 years since install.
Ditto to Rode's Restoration. They have redone several of my cars over the years. No problems what so ever. They KNOW Ford power steering systems.
i really suggest doing the borgenson power steering box conversion. it gives an incredible gain across the board. you get a much tighter feel. its not going to be leaking in year or so. it cleans up all the ugly power assist stuff that hangs under the car.
Go to the Borgensen site, they list the product there. I have seen it on a few Stangs and talkd to the owners. They say it's a nite & day difference in the steering. Also, there is a member here who has done the conv. markso125 is his screen name. It's not cheap.
hum ok good info there thanks! yeah thought of that one. for convenience you are right. hum that does sounds interesting! you have it on yours? where did you mount it? got part numbers? or is it this one: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/brg-800114?gclid=CKuMrdX4zbQCFQ_hQgodmB4ABQ so basically after looking at photos in general it doesn't use a cylinder like the OE one? what about lines to OE pump?
