I won't have much more space in the trunk it looks like nor do I want to run a lot of wires back there.
What are my options to making a simple sound system?
I had two 2 ways in the front and a woofer and 4 channel sub in the back. It sounded really good.
Can I get 5" 3 way speakers that would fit in the front and run them off the head unit? I think I have 25 rms watts per channel on the head unit.

Craig Selvey has a thread about a good way to mount a sub without compromising space. I couldn't paste the link cause I'm on my phone.

He also has a thread about putting a dual cone speaker in the front dash

At a bare minimum I would at least go with 6 x 9's in the rear deck with a nice head unit.

Since I have a fuel cell, I am adding a rear firewall and covering the speaker holes also in case of a rear end collision. I'm going with surface mount speakers on the rear tray. They aren't real pretty but they don't restrict the rear view in a 2 dr because of the trunk height.

Simple 6x9 coaxials in the front doors and 6x9 triaxials in the rear deck here.

Seems to be getting harder to find 6x9 deck speakers with a full grille. Most have open tops. I like the full covered look.

I found those grills on an audio equipment web site, don't remember where. Mounting the speaker on the door surface gave just enough clearance for the speaker's big a$$ magnet.

I'm not a fan of the looks of new speakers and debated buying a set of these (also called marine speaker grilles) for an old school look and using modern 6x9s under the rear tray.

I bought new Kenwood 6x9s that has ok looking grilles but I've since changed my mind.

I have modern Pioneer speakers hidden under a factory rear package tray. These rear speaker trays are repopped and one can get one from Auto Krafters.
