I live in west Central Florida and drive a 64 Caliente two door hardtop. It's red on red with a 302 and 5 speed, granada front discs and air conditioning. I just converted to an alternator and matching voltage regulator. I have installed a voltmeter and disconnected the idiot light. Could use some help in wiring the alternator up, first attempt today failed. Look forward to hearing what I did wrong. Tks!
Welcome from East Tennessee. I had a 64 Caliente many years ago. It was a 289 with an automatic. Loved that car. Wish many times I had not sold it. But then I have had many cars I wished I had kept.
...:Handshake "alternator and matching voltage regulator." ...I didn't think an alt. used an external reg... aren't they internally regulated?
Frank, you have been looking at that Chevy too long. Fords had external regulators from '63 well into the '80's.
