This is my first post. I have a 2-Door 1973 Maverick 250ci Auto with Deluxe Ginger Interior. I bought it last year and have done a little work on it since. It spent the last 40 years up North in Michigan where it sat on and off. We all know what life up north can do to a car, especially if it sits. This car has many rust holes and we have a very low budget. We have done what we can like dissassembling parts of the car and cutting away what rust we find. Any recomnmendations and advice is greatly appreciated !!!
from Northeast Pennsylvania I found that you don't have to buy a full 4 x 8 sheet of sheet metal so just buy what you need to repair one bad section at a time and concentrate on that. Coat it real good when you're finished with a rust encapsulater and just take your time.
Bad v Good Yeah the thing is that what is bad on the car is bad but the rest of the car us in pretty good condition. An example being that it has holes in the quarters but the seats and carpet are in great condition.
All northern cars are like that. We use to buy southern cars with good bodies, and rotten interiors, then find a good interior in a northern car, and swap it all over.
The good thing is that I live in the South. At least its a little easier to find rust-free parts for my rusty car!
