I know there are threads on here about it, but the answer I found didnt add up. I'm looking to do my heater core, and I didn't think my car had ac, I have no controls for ac and no bracketry left over. Does anyone have pics of what a non ac car looks like under the hood? Or links to some?
thank god, i only found one answer to what it look like on other posts and the guy said youll have a rubber gromit and two hoses sticking out if you have AC, and if you dont you can see your heater box under the hood. and i didnt know if he ment the two hoses that go to your heater core or not. thanks guys. i was also wondering what the blue circular container is near the blower motor on the passenger corner. the flex hose on mine isnt hooked up , and there is a metal line that goes out the other side to somewhere
Simplest way to know if you have AC - as Dave stated, you will have no blower motor sticking through the firewall on the passenger side - the blower motor on an AC car is part of the heater box and sits inside the car over the top of the transmission tunnel
yeah i was right then, i dont have it, thank god, ive read on these threads that changing the heater core with ac sucks. so about the vent tube. why does it vent into that container? and is that flex tube supposed to be attached to something?
It DOES suck changing the heater core on A/C Mavericks. I've done both A/C and non-A/C, and the non-A/C is super easy. That flex-tube attaches to a fitting on the air cleaner.
so i just did the heater core today, and the floorboard blows great, but the defrost not so much. do you think its anything i did? any ideas on how to fix it?
i did that, but it didnt relly fix it, so i stuck my hand down in there and noticed it blows strong inside, but the duct isnt really lined up, i think it my have moved when i was replacing the heater core.
