    :Welcome:from Sunny San Jose.
My passion has always been going fast, drag racing, road racing, and open road racing like the Silver States Classic................in the past 35+ years I've made drag cars out of some nice original early Fords and Chevy's, and for me it's been having a nice foundation to start with...........and it looks like the car is nice and Frank's done a lot of great work on the car.
I for one would love to see it made into a purpose built drag car. My Maverick is an old NHRA B/SM car built in the late 70's and I'd love to see one built from the begining as a tube chassis car................If you don't elect to do the project with this car I can understand....................if you do I hope you could post pictures of the process...........Good Luck whichever way you go.

if all it does is carry the motor 1/8 mile...yes

    "purpose built drag race cars"

    have no...street suspension
    no street tires
    no street gear
    no street driver comforts
    on and on and on...
    so basically "not a car"
most get pushed on/off a trailer.

    "big wheel motor stand"

I respect those guys who do the 1/8th mile..................for me it's has been the 1/4 mile for over 35 years, and I ain't changing now.
I also respect those guys who have street strip/street cars.............again, not for me........................that's why I'm looking for a "Daily Driver".........I believe in having both................one you can "Trailer" to the track and the other you can drive on the street/canyon carve/or............just enjoy on a nice drive...........................................and maybe a little :drive:......................................................................IMHO

I turned down $4500 rolling only because to get it rolling it would take a minimum of $3500 in parts using nice stuff like Franktf's frt susp and a JY 8.8 out back which at that point leaves me in the RED on the deal.

Of course there are other ways to make it rolling and save money but the AJE stuff franktf had under it was sweet.

I would rather find a trade that saves this car from the torch and scratches my race car itch at the same time.

See what mess you got me into....Glad to be here!:thumbs2:

On another note: Today I went and looked at an assembled Jegster 12point maverick chassis that was on CL and he wanted $600 for it. Welds looked terrible and it seemed exceptionaly small in the drivers compartment. Im better off building my own.

Every time i view a thread that someone went all the way down to the bare shell and did complete restore like YOU, Cruizin and the one Topolino is doing I get nervous about cutting this car up and i fear that I will feel like :slap: this afterwards.
