Elec. Water pump ?

    Ok i have a 351 w in a 71 mav i put a elec water pump on it now i cant put a belt on it because the pump is in the way for the alt...has anyone had this prob ...and how did u lower the alt ....i pray someone has pics please help

    Are you using a low mount alternator?

    no the factory one ....i didnt know they made a low mount one

    Here is my setup on a 289 in my Falcon. You need to make the top bracket and buy the lower bracket.

    I use the Moroso kit also but I found mine on ebay. I have a Meziere electric water pump.

    there are more than afew brackets out there that will work. Just need to stay away from the water pump mounted styles is all.

    There's also a nice one being made now for electric's.. that has a billet cage style bracket that uses the mini alternator.. but right off the top.. I can't remember who makes it.

    Look at the picture in post #144 in my build thread http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=80855&page=15

    I used the stock bracket that mounts to the cylinder head but I flipped it around. I think I had to file one of the holes a little. I made the top bracket from a piece of flat stock. It was pretty easy all in all.
