    Will a t-5 out of a 94 3.8 V6 mustang work ? it has the same gear ratio's as the 94 V8 but the tork is 265 vs 300 on the V8....

i believe it has a longer input shaft and requires the longer bell housing. i dont know if it will fit in the maverick. i dont know if anybody had tried putting a 94 and up trans and bell housing in.

Yes I looked it up and the input shaft is longer than a pre 93 trans...

Excepting for the slightly longer input shaft, AFAIK it's basically the same World Class trans used in the '85-'88 5.0 Stangs... Those were prone to bust 3rd and/or cluster gear if power shifted(got the T-shirt for that one)...

I'm not sure about the fit in a Mav but I put a 97 V6 T5 on both my 66 mustang coupe and my 65 Falcon without issues. I used a 95 V8 bell housing which in both cases worked out by providing better clutch fork placement in the cars since it comes out lower in the bell than 93 and earlier units. This allowed extra clearance for the long tube headers in both cars. I did have to do some mods to the trans itself but that was to convert from electronic speedo to mechanical and shouldn't be an issue with a 94 model. The post 95 V6 T5's also have better torque ratings than the pre 95's, matching the V8 models. Not sure how tight the Mav trans tunnel is (sold my 76 a few years back and still miss it) but compared to a Falcon I'll bet there's tons of room.

I'd liek to see someone do both the V6 and the 5 speed. Those 3.8's had great heads, really a shame Ford didn't make em for the 302's. Maybe one day I'll do that, got a pair of those heads and the aluminum 2 bbl intake already.

I passed on the 94 V6 t-5 .... I can't find any info saying it will work or not, and can't afford to spend money on something that might work.... So if I understand everyone right I should only be looking for late 80's up to 93 V8 mustang t-5 ...
