A T5 would be the most plentiful, and easiest.

I am currently finishing up my conversion from C-4 automatic to Top Loader 4 speed. You will need to get a clutch pedal assembly and I think the clutch linkage is the hardest part. The factory z-bar is difficult to find and expensive when you do find it. There weren't too many of them built. I am converting to a hydraulic master and exterior slave set up partially for that reason and space considerations with the 6901 headers. Being a pack rat I had my floor-shift column from my 1st Maverick (30 years ago) but that is not totally necessary to the conversion. Search the archives for other's conversion as there is a wealth of information here.

Agree with this one, go with a hydraulic clutch setup. There are no major modifications required at all for this swap.

Best thing ive done to the car is the T-5. Its a whole nother animal.

I did the whole conversion by myself with the help from members of the forum via PM and threads.

It is tough but worth it!

"In third if you nail the throttle and let off quickly the clunk of the locker, slapping of the bars, rattle of the exhaust, and slop of the floppy springs is scary as hell tbh.

Compared to a newer car I realize this thing is a death trap until I get the suspension and some safety gear."

sooo what was the worst thing you have done to your car...:hmmm:
