Can anybody tell me what type of carb this is ? I bought this on here and the gentlemen said he used it on his Maverick but when I measure it seems to tall. The only info on it is R-7194. Does anybody know if this is the right adapter plate ? Thanks Rick

It kinda looks like a progressive Weber. If you have a 250 you may have hood clearance issues with that combination. The PO may have had a 170 or 200 engine which are not as tall as the 250 engines. You may want to post this on fordsix.com as there are alot of guys there that would be more familiar with that carb. You also may be able to find a lower profile adaptor on www.classicinlines.com

    Good luck.

That could be from a Pinto. I had one on a Datsun pickup once and it looked like that.

Probably from a 2.3 Pinto or Mustang II, AFAIK all those used the progressive 2bbl... Lots of other 4cyl used those as well, were common into the early/mid '80s...

Does anybody have this set-up ? Are you using this adapter? Or what adapter are you using , that doesn't have a height problem. Thanks

    Rick,
I'm running a Weber DG series carb on a 250. I have had it on the car for about 20 years. Initially, I started with a progressive secondary but then bought a synchronized secondary.

I have an adaptor similar to yours. Mine came from Clifford Research and I had to weld on tabs to the sides to get it to line up the way I wanted.

It also did not have a port for the PCV. I had some extra metal welded on and then drilled and threaded for a hose inlet.

Also, I had a clearance issue and had to mill down the adaptor and find a non-Weber air cleaner that used side clips and not screws at the top.

It works well enough when tuned in right. I had it running a little lean at one time and roasted my valve guides. Some performance gains over the stock carb. I use to have headers on the car, but they burned through and I have a stock exhaust now.

In the next few months, I will be upgrading to a HO 302. I will be selling off both carbs and the adaptor.
