Get rid of the lift shackles. Get new leaf springs of have them rearched....

Back when I bought my T5Z from D&D (1996?) it cost $999 + $60 shipping to my door and included the correct speedometer driven gear to put on my cable. The early version has a -249 on the ID tag and was made by Borg Warner. Later -251 models are made by Tremec. Best thing you can do for these is buy a good aftermarket shifter.

I think my next purchase will be some new shackles (mine got destroyed in removal thus the lift shackles) and springs.

I still am unsure on the springs in the respect that they may raise the rear of the car way too much.

Sure is. Their web site says a g-force conversion will handle 600HP and 500 ft/lb in a 3,300 lb car with drag radials.

I found one on corral for around 1900$ but it had straight cut gears lol.

I am used to clutchless shifting with my motorcycle but I highly doubt the supercharger whine, and tough downshifts around town would be worth it.

For half the price the Z is a decent deal. When rebuilders want 900+core for a rebuilt to stock specs t-5 in my area the 1600$ for the NEW trans was a no brainer.

Plus I doubt my motor makes more than 300ft lbs anyways. So even with slicks I think it would live awhile.

Wow, it didnt take you long to save up the pennies did it. By far the best Trans to have in a Mav is the T-5, after you drove one that is T-5 equipped nothing else compares to it.

I unfortunately had to sell a few things to buy the box.
