10,000 it has to be perfect and with a old car thats almost impossible (seems like there never finished) and for that kinda money it better have a full tank of gas
Stingrays is Real Nice a lot of upgrades probably one of the top 10 V-8 Mavericks I've seen on this site for sale. I have to say that high of number 1-10 as not to offend anyone here. The best to me was a Yellow Grabber w/Boss 302 for $18,000. Many of us have a lot of money in our cars and more money in it as we work on it.
Thanks jncastell for the kind words. I really think I have my car priced right. As it does have small things to fix. But like Dave B's green Mav, Rthomas771 blue Mav, and Craig Selvey orange Mav they are right on perfect in my opinion. If I owned one of their cars and was trying to sell it. It would be around $18,000 to $22,000 easy. A lot of how to price a car is in how much it would take to restore it, replace it. As paint/body jobs are getting more and more expensive. Most quality paint/body jobs now cost around $5000 to $10,000 alone. I painted my chevelle last year and supplies alone cost over $1500. Paint ain't cheap!
John, are you talking about the yellow boss 302 with coil overs that came up in the classifieds here a few days ago for $16k ? I'm going to start another post about that car I think. It really has my attention since it is a five speed and sharp looking build, but not so sure about the front end and its lack of shock towers, and how the coil over setup is making up for that lose of rigidity. The car I was pm'd about has something very valuable, a highly documented build on this and another forum, that would give me a history of all the issues and choices the builder had and how he dealt with them. Contrast that with getting a build that is a sum of a bunch of high performance parts , not knowing what issues have been dealt with, and a seller that is just a flipper with a builder you can't even contact a few owners back. I'm also trying to figure out the value of 'never had rust' vs 'rust cut out and replaced with metal'. Is the latter going to need to repaired again a few years own the road. Its going to be a hard choice I'm sure.
55 crown, do you know anything about that green car? That's the first Mav I found before I started this post. its one of the cars I wish I could drive, seems like it would rub and be a bit of a dog, as it is lowered and on 17's.
Never had rust, and rust cut out, can be a huge difference...all depends on how it was done, and by who.
The Green ones nice too except the only green I really like is that bright plastic looking neon type of green. I think there's 2 members here one with a comet and another with a Maverick with the bright plastic looking neon type. I myself prefer black, red and then primer. That yellow Grabber may be the one I was talking about the previous owner had a bunch of pictures of the car when he was selling it. TOUGH LOOKING is the only words to describe it.
