You'll end up cutting along the side so that won't be such a big deal. Do you have any pics of your car?

Finally got off Jury Duty so it's back to work on the rear suspension.
Got the front Poly bushings from Chris Alston and the rear shackle bushings from Summit. I real x$^@&!)_+%& getting the front spring bushings out!
Also finally got the special bolts/nuts/washers for the ladder bar system....
could have bought new 35spline axles with the money spent on the bolts/nuts/washers..........................not doing that again anytime soon.
Still have to sand and paint the springs and ladder bars but at least I can get her back on the ground.

Yep, I'm only about 1-1/2 hours away. Would love to get over and see the place one of these days I'm in the area.

Getting Ready for first car show of 2013

Got my first car show of the year coming up Good Friday. An indoor car show at Gibraltar Trade Center in Taylor. It's a benefit show for the Shriner's.

Had to get the car ready for cruising this year. The power brake booster went out the end of the fall last year and the power steering control valve wasn't working right. Oddly enough those were probably the only two parts that were not replaced since I bought the car 5 1/2 years ago.

To make it easier to replace the power brake booster and control valve my brother and I decided to pull the engine. So we pulled the engine out on 3/14 and have been working on it the last week. We replaced the booster and control valve and then I decided to paint the Hedman headers. Ordered a new aluminum finned oil pan, chrome Ford Racing valve covers and new Ford Racing Chrome air cleaner. We sand blasted the Edelbrock intake manifold and spayed it with clear coat. Touched up the engine bay area and the paint on the engine (engine is painted medium green metallic to match the car).

Lastly we installed electronic cutouts on the headers. Finished putting in the engine last night. Tomorrow I'm going out to my brother's to tune it up, throw the hood back on and drive my baby home.

She should be all set for cruising season. Can't wait!

Very, Very nice looking Comet you have there. I hadn't looked at your build photos before.......................I'm impressed!
Also, what did you do to the dash pad to make it like that?

I had the guy doing my interior cover it with the vinyl I am using in my interior. I took in the dash pad, he stripped it down to the metal frame, covered it with high density foam, sculpted it and covered it in vinyl.

The seats are the only thing I have left to do on the car. I'm just waiting for the money tree to grow. The seats will be the same green vinyl on the dash pad with fabric inserts, just like my door panels. The headliner is also the same vinyl that is on the dash pad. My interior guy does great work.

Mick by the sounds of things your money tree is doing pretty good. I had my car painted this winter and put a 2 barrel on my big 6. Don't think I can make it to Taylor this Fri but I know we will be seeing each other this summer, maybe I'll do a Bakers ?
